Some divers argue with good reason that the submerged pinnacles of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang offer diving every bit as good as Richelieu Rock but with fewer boats around and fewer divers in the water. Add the wonderful Koh Haa with it’s underwater cathedral and the Phi Phi island dive sites and we think a Hin Daeng liveaboard is a must do.

Ideally we recommend combining a 2 or 3 day Hin Daeng/Hin Muang trip with a 4 day Similan/Surin trip for the ultimate Andaman sea safari.

Fewer boats dive regularly at Hin Daeng, Hin Muang. The islands are south of Phuket closer to Koh Lanta. Most boats stay north of Phuket at the Similan and Surin islands marine parks. Here are two boats that have weekly trips to Hin Daeng.

Giamani is the best liveaboard diving at Hin Daeng and Hin Muang and if you have 6 days to spare we highly recommend the 6 day trip that is a combo of 2 days south to Hin Daeng/Muang then 4 days north at Similan/Surin.
The Hin Daeng trip departs every Friday evening (from November to April) and returns Sunday evening so it makes a nice weekend trip.
