Itinerary
MV Andaman itinerary
Departure day:
Divers should meet at the Khao lak dive centre by latest 4.00 pm to check in, try on equipment and pay any extras such as park fees. Departure from the dive centre will be at around 6.30 pm. If you have time you can store your luggage in the storage room and go explore Khao Lak shops, go to the beach, grab a massage etc.
If you have your own equipment you will take it with you in the car to the boat. If you are using rental equipment, the dive staff will take it to the boat earlier and set it up for you.
Southern trips (Khao Lak to Kuraburi) depart from Thap Lamu pier, which is about 20 minutes drive from the dive centre.
Northern trips (Kuraburi to Khao Lak) depart from Khuraburi harbor, which is about 80 minutes drive by air-conditioned minibus.
Once onboard you can check in to your cabin. There will be boat orientation and briefing on the middle deck. The journey to the islands takes about 4-5 hours to the Similans or Koh Tachai, 3-4 hours to the Surin Islands.
First diving day:
06:20 hrs Early wake-up call, giving you time to grab a tea/coffee and a snack
06:40 hrs Dive brief on the middle deck (an extended brief on day 1 covers our diving & safety procedures)
07:30 hrs Dive 1
09:00 hrs Western-style cooked breakfast in the dining area
11:30 hrs Dive 2
13:00 hrs Thai-style lunch in the dining area
15:30 hrs Dive 3
16:30 hrs An afternoon snack is served on the middle deck, come and help yourself
19:00 hrs Dive 4 – night dive
21:00 hrs Thai-style dinner in the dining area
The schedule for subsequent days will follow a similar pattern for dives 1-3. The 4th dive may be earlier at sunset, and on the final evening of the 3 day and 4 day trips, the night dive is skipped and there is a barbecue and cocktail on the upper deck.
Between dives, you can relax on board, take the dinghy to the beach (if available), and snorkel from the boat. Or just lay back and enjoy the scenery from a hammock or bean bag.
Final day:
On the final day there will be two morning dives. The last dive finishes at about midday then MV Andaman cruises back to the mainland. Lunch is served on the journey and you’ll have time to relax as well as pack up your things. Arrival back at the dive centre is usually by 5.00 pm.

MV Andaman reviews
GREAT VIBES
“I went into this liveaboard experience alone and blindly. I am a single girl that just wants to dive. That being said, being alone can be very lonely or you can meet awesome people. Which is what happened! The staff was amazing, both the diving staff and the Thai crew. Two thumbs up to the Thai crew who knew everything I needed before I even knew I needed it. The food was amazing.. they also had options for vegans/vegetarians (and not lame options either). The dive crew really made you feel at home and they always had cool things to point out underwater. The best part of the trip is the people you meet along the way. I’m now in a private facebook group with the people I met on the liveaboard and we all keep up with each others travels/adventures. Unforgettable experience and totally worth it!!” Read review on Trip Advisor
Great first liveaboard!
“Diving: The diving was really enjoyable and manageable with 4 dives / day spaced out. The dives themselves were well led.
People: There was a good mix of people from USA, France, China, Korea, Russia etc. age range 30yo+ who made it a very relaxed and pleasant environment.
Crew and dive masters: Well organised and nice crew who made it a smooth and easy trip.
Recommended as value for money.” Read review on Trip Advisor
