The Junk

Similan liveaboard

The Junk dive deck

The Junk

The Junk has been a favourite Similan liveaboard for years and has a very high rate of returning divers who appreciate the service and the quality of the dive guides.

The Junk is a boat that people fall in love with. It’s a boat for divers who appreciate the details that turn a good dive trip into a great dive trip.

Also known as June Hong Chian Lee which means “Respect Wind, Travel Forever,” the Junk has starred in James Bond’s “The Man with The Golden Gun” and Walt Disney’s “Swiss Family Robinson.”

The Junk recently (2014) changed owners and has had a major overhaul. She still maintains all the old charm but the prices have actually dropped and she now represents excellent value, especially for groups of 3 or 4.

The excellent boat crew take care of everything for you on board, including carrying your dive gear into the tender. All diving is done from the dinghy as the Junk does not have a rear dive platform.

“Amazing crew, great food and brilliant diving! What more can you ask for?” Jenny. Jan 2015

    The Junk Similan liveaboard reviews

The Dive Master that I had on the Junk (Keith) is the best that I have encountered in over 10 years of diving in terms of briefings, dive guide and customer service. Ian, UK

I especially liked the fact that we were able to put the sails up on the Junk twice. That was highly enjoyable and the food was excellent. I was also pleased by the small group sizes, a perk of going at the beginning of the season. Definitely a experience I’d like to repeat at some point. Ben. Nov 2013
