Khao Lak Similan Diving

The Similan Islands is was referred to as being among the world’s top ten dive destinations by Jacques Cousteau himself and we won’t argue with him.

The Similan Islands National Marine Park is made up of nine granite boulder islands that lie in a north to south line about 100 km north west of Phuket.

It is the best place to go diving in Thailand between November and April. During those months snorkelers and divers can experience the crystal clear water and exquisite marine life.

There are two different types of dive site at the Similan Islands. There are sloping coral reefs with all the pretty corals and fish or there are the more dramatic large granite boulder dive sites.

These boulder dive sites like deep six and elephant head tend to be deeper with stronger currents. The boulders form spectacular underwater vistas and there are plenty of swim-throughs and crevices to explore.

The actual dive sites to be dived on a particular Khao Lak Similan diving day trips are chosen by the dive leader on the day based on the conditions.
