Phuket diving weather in October

October in Phuket can be a bit wet in the first half of the month but by late October the weather starts to improve as the monsoon season changes again and the wind starts blowing from the north east.

Liveaboards start heading to Hin Daeng/Hin Muang first and then up to the Similan Islands in the last week of October or when the national park opens.

These can be lovely dive trips to be on before the high season really kicks in and the dive crowds arrive. All the liveaboards are shiny and new after their low season ship yard refurbishments and the divemasters are all full of enthusiasm, not yet jaded from a long season of diving.

Of course these observations about the Phuket weather are generalizations, we have known very wet October months with the rains carrying well in to November. But typically late October is a good time to arrive in Phuket.
