Thailand liveaboard in May

The Similan and Surin Islands national parks are open to divers from Oct 15th to May 15th every year.

So you can join a liveaboard to the Similan Islands until May 15th, but many boats already stop operations by the end of April because there is less demand for trips in May.

What’s it like on a Similan Islands liveaboard in May? Assuming that the weather is ok it’s an excellent time to dive with good chances for seeing the big stuff. The really cool thing is that there are fewer boats around so you get the dive sites to yourself.

Here is some feedback from a couple who were on Deep Andaman Queen’s last trip of the season back in May:

It was awesome! The conditions were amazing, and it was great that it was the last trip of the year because we had the islands to ourselves pretty much!
Todd and steve were awesome! Todd was our guide during the whole trip, we loved him!
