Koh Yao mountain bike tour

3 days 2 nights: Koh Yao (Noi and Yai) expedition

Itinerary:

Day 1: Hotel pick up from Phuket hotels and transfer to Bang Rong Pier on Phuket’s east coast. We load the mountain bikes onto a local boat for a beautifully scenic 1 hour ride through Phang Nga bay to Koh Yao Noi, a sleepy island in the bay. We ride to tonight’s accommodation at Tabaek Viewpoint Bungalows, stopping a couple of times along the way. After lunch we ride a circular route around the island. The 18km circle is fairly easy with just a few gentle hills. More experienced riders can tackle an alternative off road route. Total riding today is about 25km finishing at a seafood restaurant on the west coast of the island to enjoy dinner at sunset. Koh Yao Noi Bungalows

Day 2: After a good nights sleep we cycle 10km to the pier and cross over to Koh Yao Yai, a slightly bigger island nearby. We use local long tail boats for the crossing. We ride a circular route around the island with some off road sections. The views of the ocean and the rice paddies are spectacular. After lunch on the beach, looking across to Krabi in the distance, we ride back to the pier cross back to Koh Yao Noi and then ride the 10km back to our bungalows for the night. Dinner tonight is in a small local village. Total ride distance today is about 45km.

Day 3: There is just 15km of riding today in the morning followed by a scenic boat tour of the island to see “the three islands” and “the big tree.” After lunch we get back on the boat for the one hour ride through Phang Nga Bay back to Phuket and transfer back to your hotel.
