Similan Islands video
Similan liveaboard VDO
Here is a good video to show you what 4 days 4 nights with 14 dives on a liveaboard is like. This was shot on Hallelujah but the majority of boats run similar 4 day itineraries that include the Similan islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock (which is with the Surin Islands marine park).
These trips are mostly about the diving with some (lots of) eating and sleeping in between. There are normally two or three runs to beaches at Similan (island 4 and island 8) and Koh Tachai. Koh Tachai may well be Thailand’s best beach. Koh Bon and Richelieu Rock are beach-less.
Boats depart in the evening and cruise to the Similan Islands ready to start diving the following morning. There are 4 dives per day except on the final day when there are two morning dives before returning to port. There are three day dives per day with about 3 hours surface interval between each dive. The last dive of the day is either a sunset dive before dinner or a later night dive.
Evening entertainment on board consists of dinner, reading a book, watching a movie in the saloon or just chatting with your dive buddies over a cold beer. Underwater videographers or photographers can show off their daily highlights on the boats media centre.
